Chad called me this morning ("I'm fine, thanks for asking") about interstate 35W bridge (8-lane expressway) that fell yesterday in Minneapolis. He frequently takes this bridge with his semi but was in Willmar when it happened. He has been avoiding that bridge because of the construction work that closed 4 of the 8 lanes of traffic. He said the outside lanes were the only ones open when it fell and some speculation that the strain of only having the outer lanes open on both sides with heavy bumper to bumper rush hour traffic was a contributing factor.
