Dad got his wish to be in heaven for Christmas.
He passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 18th.

And so it begins... 5 months of sloppy wet heavy snow and icy roads.

Steve went Mt biking at Luton Park this afternoon.

The newest addition to our household. She is approx 4 years old and very playful. It took a while for her to warm up to the rest of the resident hairballs but she only growls at our big black & white cat now. Steve calls her "Squishy the crabby lady" because he thinks she is fat and she makes cranky sounds when we pick her up. Her original name was "Krishy" but we are slowly changing it. So far she responds to anything that involves food.

Our Nephews, cousins Christopher (football uniform) and Kaleb at the pee wee football game on a beautiful fall day yesterday.

Desktop cross-cut paper shredder. Only one page of paper at a time, great for credit card receipts. We purchased a larger heavy duty capacity unit that I can feed entire envelopes of junk mail into so I no longer use this one.

My dear, sweet, patient, wonderful, husband keeps telling me that some day soon he is going to rent an industrial dumpster and go on a pillage and trash mission to rid our home of all the things I've pack-ratted away. Memories of Summer

This is Steve's much loved Grandmother, Mary Keegstra. This photo was taken in 2004.

She passed away this morning.

Every year we get our BIG long hair, black & white cat shaved because he hates to be brushed and gets knots in his fur. He is always more comfortable and we have less cat hair floating around the house. But he looks pretty silly for the first month or so. [click on photo for larger view]

Also, once again our wedding anniversary (21!) almost slipped by without our notice. Good thing Mom reminded us or we would have completely forgotten. Thanks Mom!

I was sitting on the beach at Grand Haven last night and watched the largest Great Lakes Coast Guard Cutter leave the channel around 8pm. It had been docked in Grand Haven for the Coast Guard Festival. Notice how small the lighthouse looks in comparison. Click on the photo for a larger version.
